Last weekend, we went to the Archeology Fair at Fort Concho. I've been bringing my kids there since Megan and Matthew were little. This year, I decided to bring Jacob...
We looked at all the obligatory booths, sat in the tepee, and searched for clues in the dirt. We sat down on a bench to watch a man build a fire using flint and steel.
"Does anyone know what flint is?" the man asked. Before I even had a second to think about it, Jacob hopped off the bench, arm in the air. "I do!!" he said- "Flint is my last name! My name is Jacob Flint!"
The man smiled and continued on with how to use flint to make a fire... when he was done, Jacob asked if he could try. "No," said the man, "it's dangerous to play with fire."
"Oh, it's okay," Jacob said, "I'm a Flint!"
