Watch Your Words

At the risk of being one of those annoying moms who is always telling stories about her child(ren), here is another lesson taught to me by Jacob...

Whenever we see a soldier/airman/etc in uniform, I point him/her out to Jacob, and remind him, "We should be very proud of him/her- That person fights for our country."

For the past few weeks, Jacob has been pretending he is a police officer, and takes it upon himself to "under-arrest" random people.

While at the Veteran's Day parade on Saturday, soldiers passed by us, marching and singing their calls... We looked behind us, and Jacob was standing next to an airman, dressed in uniform, apologizing for having to "under-arrest" him.

"Jacob!" I said, "Airmen are heroes! We don't arrest them! Remember? They fight for our country!"

Jacob looked at the airman, then looked at me, and said, "Mom, fighting is very bad."

The new word is "Protect."
